Swansea Carers Centre currently has Carers Trust funding to provide a project for Young Adult Carers (YAC). The project is for young people aged between 16-25 years old who have/had the responsibility for looking after a family member or friend who could not cope without their support (and are unpaid). The next Young Adult Carers event is on Thursday 23rd February at Tapestri 10.30-2.30pm. Address: Llys Glas (Old Police Station), Orchard Street, Swansea SA1 5AJ The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the project and other services that can support Young Adult Carers in the Swansea area, and to provide some enjoyable activities and workshops for young adult carers who don’t get a lot of opportunities to do anything enjoyable for themselves. It is not a fundraising event, just an opportunity for enjoyment and to make young adult carers aware of the support available to them. The event will have a free buffet Lunch as well as fun and creative taster sessions that young people can take part in such as Chinese boxing, self-defence, breathe and relax plus other creative activities. Swansea Carers Centre are welcoming all young people 16-25 who may or may not be carers to the event on Thursday 23rd Feb. Friends and family are welcome to attend too…the more the merrier. If you would like more information or want to know how to get involved in the project, please get in touch via [email protected] Comments are closed.
