Rebecca Evans AM, Assembly Member for Gower, is encouraging constituents to have their say on the proposal to build a gas-fired power station at Abergelli Farm, Felindre. If the plans go ahead, the plant will provide back-up generation capacity which will operate flexibly to respond to short-term variation in customer demand and intermittent output from renewable power generation. It is anticipated that it will operate for no more than 1,500 hours per year. Mrs Evans said: “I have met with Abergelli Power to discuss the proposal in detail, and am keen that constituents with a view take the chance to have their say in the public consultation which starts today.” Constituents can have their say by phone, email, or post. Full information can be found at www.abergellipower.co.uk . There will also be a series of public exhibitions where people see the plans for themselves and put their questions to the developers.
