Gower AM Welcomes Increased Funding for Children’s Mental Health Following Covid -19

Gower Assembly Member, Rebecca Evans AM, has welcomed the announcement that there will be increased support for children’s mental health following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rebecca Evans said: “I welcome the Welsh Government announcement of £1.25m to provide additional mental health support for children who may be experiencing increased stress or anxiety as a result of the outbreak. This will increase the capacity of school counselling, for those children in need of such support.

“This is a challenging and unsettling time for everyone, but particularly so for those children who are experiencing anxiety or stress.  As well as being supported academically by their schools, it is vital that children also have their emotional wellbeing supported.”​
